Baby Barack + Madrassa of Doom

Over the years The Enemy has engaged many intelligent and  compassionate conservatives who have, after some heated debate, changed the way The Enemy regards many issues. The Enemy values these folks for enriching his understanding and making him a better person. The Enemy only mentions this to emphasizes a distinction he makes betwixt those who may hold 'traditional' conservative views, and what today constitutes the contemporary Conservative Movement.  In the Enemy's schemata this includes the entire Neo-conservative project, the Republican Party, most  Christianists', clans of  wealthy individuals and right-wing family foundations, various media monitors, legal groups and professional networking organizations. A host of PACs' and 527 groups, right wing think tanks and, finally, an intricate network of conservative pundits and 501(c)(3) groups we'll call the Conservative Message Machine Money Matrix (C4M).

Just exactly how well oiled and slick the C4M is never fails to impress. A case in point is the recent 'Baby Barack and the Secret Madrassa of Doom' fairytale. The interesting thing about this story is that it holds two important instructions for The Enemy. One of the two lessons contained involves over-confidence. The Enemy had been unconsciously operating from the rather arrogant position that, being wise to the evil mechanizations of the C4M, He could spot a wolf in sheep drag a mile away. WRONG!

'The Enemy' can't pinpoint the exact moment the story entered his little pea  brain, but he recalls thinking...

"oh dear, the Clinton camp is going to play it like that. Shit! how disappointing. Oh well, I'm sure some very, very, smart people in Hilary's 'War Room' thought long and hard about the pros and cons before deciding, regrettably, that this was the best course... Obama got some 'splainin to do."

Now that we fully understand 'Baby Barack and the Secret Madrassa of Doom', and the mechanics of the attempted Clinton frame-up are laid out before us, 'The Enemy' is mortified at just how easily he was hoodwinked.

Just goes to show how insidious this shit can be.

TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN

Then there's the second lesson, and it's more of an epiphany than a correction. When The Enemy mistakenly believed the Obama story originated from the Clinton camp, his reaction was a sigh of disappointment and a shrug of resignation. However, once he learned the actual source and function of the smear--The Enemy went all circus-freak crazy.

Why the double standard? why the apparent hypocrisy?

Of course part of the fury can be attributed to the simple embarrassment at being punked. But that doesn't entirely explain it.

The Enemy was mulling this over for a few days when came a 'Thunderstanding'.

When The Enemy believed the story emanated from the Hilary camp, he received  it as just another example in a long line of 'worst practices' (d)evolving from 'Democracy' as it (dis)functions in these here United States. Emblematic of a process long, long over due a deep, systemic overhaul. Like an engine in need of oil, if allowed to continue in this deteriorating condition, the engine will wreck irreparable, possibly terminal, damage on itself. The Enemy heard the smear as sad testimony to just how low we have all been brought.

However, now that the source and function of the "story" has been exposed the Enemy is genuinely outraged. Here's why.

As stated at the opening of this post, The Enemy has some (grudging) respect for certain conservative arguments. Even those ideologies for which the The Enemy holds no respect–– considering them to be dangerous, delusional, or just plain ignorant–– there is always the assumption that the animating intention behind the position, no matter how insane,is always toward the welfare of the nation, the fortification of her institutions and/or the advancement of 'The People'. Even when the definition of "The People" is wickedly narrow, the desire has always been for betterment of someones America.

That no longer holds true. The Enemy believes that the parties responsible for the Obama smear represent a profound shift in the lay of the land. We are no longer dealing with conservatives or even ultraconservatives. This insult comes from outside the traditional political spectrum. These people are not advancing any ideology ––they operate through the conservative movement only because conservative concerns have traditionally proved easier to commandeer. They could actually care less about 'God and Country' (as many Evangelicals are slowly realizing) and 'the process' has become a nuisance.

They do not have any of our interests at heart, left or right, conservative or liberal. Politics is simply a means to an end. The mechanism by which they are able to aggregate more and more power. corporate power.

With their very own executive branch installed and a colluding congress positioned they were finally able to disable all those silly 'checks and balances'––the last vestiges of the 'Democratic Era'––and grab the brass ring.

America is staring, unblinking and dead-eyed at her history as it passes far below. America is floating face down in the water. The war has been revealed for what is, the Constitution has been shredded and an entire American city was left to drown.

Abandon ship! It's over, and they are not even bothering to conceal the looting in these final days'. They're grabbing whatever isn't nailed down.

They'll convert whatever is  left of the nations' assets to a wartime economy. Finally, the corporate interests they represent will have the military capabilities they need. A standing army for those 'acquisitions' too large to be sub-contracted out. Freed at last of interference from the “Parchment regime", 'America' becomes an anachronism they promote to pacify the population.  All the pomp and pageantry of the "democracy" is retained for 'circus' purposes, but really––no more stoopid 'citizens', just pacified consumers and poverty hardened soldiers. It's better this way––more efficient.

That's why The Enemy was so pissed.   

The Year That Was

 

O.K. O.K. - So, The Enemy hasn't posted since November 9th. It isn't that The Enemy refrained from writing all this time; it's just that The Enemy hasn't been hitting the 'send' doo-hickey. What with post-election fatigue, Thanx-G!, Chrizzle, Chanukah, NYEves, and chronic laziness syndrome, The Enemy was simply too exhausted to push one more button.

However, it's a new year. The Enemy is resolved to be more 'on it' in this here 2007.
