Open Letter from Barack Obama to the LGBT Community
"...and I have worked to improve the
Uniting American Families Act so we can afford same-sex couples the
same rights and obligations as married couples in our immigration
system."
Hhhhmmmm, not to be a total shithead or anything, but what exactly is Obama referring to when he says he's "worked" to improve the UAFA? since when does wringing your hands and schvitzing about *Gay Fraud* constitute work?
Just asking. Full letter after the jump.

In an article titled 'Gays To Face New Clamp' (yikes!) Mohammed Al A'Ali reports on Bahrain's proposed 'Homosexual Crackdown'. The proposal was put forward by MPs of the Al Menbar parliamentary block and seeks to address Bahrain's widespread gay problem.
"Crackdown and Widespread. I'm sure I've seen that movie. I believe it starred Rod Majors" exclaimed Shakesville skamp Melisa McEwan.

I think the truth behind the "Latinos are all racist" news blitz is a subconscious desire on the part of whites to deal with their own race
issues by projecting them onto minorities who don't have (the) necessary
media access it would require to issue a comprehensive rebuttal.

"While I'm supportive of this proposal in principle, I have
been concerned about fraud and believe implementation of this provision
could strain the capacity of our Citizenship & Immigration
Services." -- Hillary Clinton last year, clarifying her *support* for Immigration Equality.
Barack raised similar concerns.
"As someone who believes that
homosexual couples should have the same legal rights as married couples
and that our immigration laws should unite families, I support the
Uniting American Families Act in concept," says Obama. "But I also
believe that changes need to be made to the bill to minimize the
potential for fraud and abuse of the immigration system."
Heaven forbid taxpaying gay citizens -- who often pay higher taxes than their married heterosexual neighbors -- should
*inconvenience* the poor, overloaded federal bureaucracy by demanding
equal rights.

Sebastian Cordoba, who produced the award winning documentary "Through Thick and Thin" has written a nice, concise — if somewhat pessimistic — article on immigration equality for the 'The Gay City News'.
The Enemy is particularly impressed that Cordoba points out that much of immigration equality's invisibility as an issue stems not from Conservative/Republican push-back as much as it does the totally inexplicable trepidation of most Democrats and our so called "community leaders" why?.
"Gay" + "Immigration" —— JEBUS!, it's not as if the entrée wasn't there this year, and yet...silence.
Let's create a commotion this year people, o'kaay?

The Enemy wonders if it's just his imagination, or has the whole world suddenly gone bananas for civil unions?

O.K., This is totally disturbing and a potential bombshell.
It appears that the CDC is about to release new data indicating an unprecedented 50% rise in HIV infections.
This instantly raises some questions;

Obama, in a guest post today on the Bilerico Project, writes at length about the recent McClurkin flap in an effort to shore-up his reputation within the GLBT community.
First of all, props out to O.B. for at least making an attempt. It maybe pure damage control, but at least he has the decency to bother. Other candidates ( who shall remain Clinton) treat 'The Gayz' as *in the bag* and of very little consequence anyway. Which maybe true, but show us some decency and at least pretend to give a shit.
